Ambassadors of Jesus Update 3/15/10

I spoke with Pastor Lucien this past Saturday and things are stable in Port au Prince. The children at the orphanage are well and still living under the pavilion the Lord had us build last December. Remember the Lord knew the timing of the earthquake.

The rainy season has started which is putting more pressure on the people as so many are homeless and are living under sheets and pieces of tin to be out of the weather. Please pray for the health of the Haitian people as serious outbreaks of disease can happen under these circumstances.

An American engineer visited the orphanage and their Church and advised them how to make repairs but the government is still advising people not to sleep inside any damaged buildings. No one knows if aftershocks will continue or if a new earthquake would occur.

We are still awaiting funds for these repairs. Building supplies are the  high cost items as the Haitian men are willing and able to do the work.

We continue to send our monthly support, and we just shipped a large food order last week. We praise the Lord for Him providing us with the means to do this.

The Kia truck we purchased for the ministry 4 years ago had pretty much seen its last days, but it was crushed under a collapsed building. The ministry really needs new transportation.

After much prayer and discussions with Pastor Lucien and Pastor Bill Craig of North Pointe Church, (our Mission Partner), we are saving our donated money towards a new and more dependable vehicle. A diesel powered large Nissan or Toyota van will cost around $30,000 US. It should last much longer than the Kia and be very valuable for transporting the children to school, and members to Church on Sunday as well as Mission trips we make to remote areas of Haiti.

I ask that you continue to pray specifically for:

The health and safety of the children.
Shelter for the homeless. (tents can be donated)
Health of Pastor Lucien.
Provision for the ministry.
The Lord’s direction for our next trip to Haiti.
Adoption processes to be made simpler.
